Day 1 MONDAY - JOHANNESBURG TO GRASKOP

Mogodi Lodge – Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (DBB) (www.travelground.com)

We leave Johannesburg at 08h30 for our 6-hour drive on good roads to Graskop passing through farm-lands and the coal-mining area of the Province of Mpumalanga “Where the Sun Rises”. We will stop for tea en-route and later a light lunch in Dullstroom (own account). The trout and salad is our favourite!

Dullstroom is a famous fly-fishing village and its roads are lined with Oak and Beech trees. There are many interesting shops. The trip over the beautiful Long Tom Pass takes us through some of the world’s largest man-made forests.

We visit the replica of the Long Tom gun (as used in the Anglo-Boer war), and the Lone Creek Falls. We have time to relax before meeting for pre-dinner drinks on the deck over-looking the Gorge. We dine in the Lodge’s restaurant.

Day 2 - TUESDAY - GRASKOP - FULL DAY PANORAMA ROUTE

Overnight GRASKOP, Mogodi Lodge – DBB

We will visit numerous majestic view sites – Pinnacle Rock, God’s Window, Lisbon Falls, 3 Rondawels, Bourke’s Luck Potholes etc. Lunch for your own account.

Day 3 - WEDNESDAY - GRASKOP TO HAZYVIEW

Hippo Hollow Hotel – DBB (www.seasonsinafrica.com)

After breakfast, we visit the historic gold-mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest, en-route to Hazyview (Hippo Hollow Hotel). To clear your jet-lag, we recommend that you throw yourself off the mountain at the Big Swing in Graskop (www.bigswing.co.za) and experience the adrenline rush of a 68 metre freefall at 180 km/h in under 3 seconds on one of the world’s highest Cable Gorge Swings! – Or fly across the Gorge on a 135 metre High-wire “Foefie Slide”, 130 metres above ground zero and witness breath-taking Graskop Falls! (Own account) – OR for normal folk, we will settle for a light lunch in Hazyview (own account). After booking into Hippo Hollow, we will rest up a while in preparation for the 16h00 (4pm) interaction with the elephants at Elephant Whispers (www.elephantwhispers.co.za) (included in tour price).  We enjoy pre-dinner sun-downers on the deck before an excellent evening meal.

Day 4 - THURSDAY - HAZYVIEW - FULL DAY KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Overnight Hippo Hollow Hotel – DBB

Rise early to meet our Ranger between 05h30/06h00 for our open Safari trip into the Park. We enter the Park as the gates open in anticipation and excitement of what activities the night has brought (Lions hunt at night)!!

We will enjoy a packed breakfast and a visit to the local souvenier shop for books on the Park and for that Safari hat or T-shirt you promised your grandchildren!

After an exciting and interesting safari, we return to our Hotel to enjoy its amenities. We will meet for pre-dinner drinks, compare notes and photos before indulging in yet another excellent meal in the restaurant.

Day 5 - FRIDAY - HAZYVIEW - HALF-DAY DAY KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Hippo Hollow Hotel – DBB

We spend the morning in the Park in our mini-bus with our Guide/Ranger finding that allusive animal which we missed yesterday. After lunch in Hazyview we could visit the Reptile Park, MonkeyBirds, a Wellness Spa, (all own account) or just chill-out at our Hotel.

We need to build up our energy, as tonight we will immerse ourselves in a feast of culture with a night of Shangaan song and dance and an unforgettable African banquet at Shangaan River Club (www.hippohollow.co.za) (included in tour price).

Day 6 - HAZYVIEW - JOHANNESBURG
